A Providential Day in All Ways
No human can control the weather but as the Lord told us, if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. So with prayer and trust in God, the Sisters of St. Francis 22nd Annual Golf Tournament was planned for Monday, September 12, 2016. And our faith in the Good Lord won for us the providential and most necessary element of a gorgeous day. Our golfers joined the foundation staff and volunteers at Radley Run Country Club in West Chester to enjoy a round of golf and a wonderful dinner. Sr. Pat Smith emceed the dinner program with her humorous banter, almost giving it the quality of a floor show. But the serious part—our “raise the paddle” auction event—not only raised funds but also afforded our guests insight into the needs of our retired sisters. All proceeds from this event will benefit the sisters’ retirement.
Our sincere thanks go out to our many sponsors—especially our event sponsor, Shannon Builders—our volunteers and participants for making this event a success.
Golfers enjoyed the five contests and, more importantly, the prizes. Winning the Closest-to-Pin with a prize of a Garmin Vívosmart® HR Smart Watch was Doug Salter. The Closest-to-Pin 50/50 contest was won by Joann Brickwedde and gave her a prize of $305. Unfortunately for our players, no one won the hole-in-one, pot-of-gold, or putting contests. Better luck next year!
