As sponsors, we publicly identify with, exert appropriate influence on, and provide various levels of support to these ministries. In so doing, we fulfill our responsibility of stewardship for our heritage, mission, and resources.
During her early years in the congregation, Sr. John Celeste Weitzel ministered in education but later studied to be a physical therapist. When she moved from Baltimore to the Aston area in November 2015, she came with a dream—to work with our sisters at Assisi House who were not getting PT for a specific problem.
Sr. Ann Marie Slavin works in the congregation’s communication office. Sr. Ann Marie’s blog, “Franciscan Life,” can be found at http://franciscanlife.blogspot.com. She often shares information on the achievements of our sisters or on some of the advocacy issues that are important to us as a congregation. She finds that readers are grateful for spiritual reflections and often shares some of her poetry.
Sr. Julia Keegan works at the Franciscan Spiritual Director as their webmaster. Sr. Julia also does spiritual direction and offers programs mainly on gratitude, evolutionary spirituality, and Teilhard de Chardin. Her blog is in the FSC site http://fscaston.org/category/blog/. She often shares spiritual insights that she has found helpful as well as information gathered from programs that have been offered at the Franciscan Spiritual Center.
