During her early years in the congregation, Sr. John Celeste Weitzel ministered in education but later studied to be a physical therapist. When she moved from Baltimore to the Aston area in November 2015, she came with a dream—to work with our sisters at Assisi House who were not getting PT for a specific problem.

Established in 1981 as an outgrowth of the 125th anniversary celebration of the foundation of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, this fund continues to award grants to organizations that address the basic causes of injustice and promote self-help and empowerment.
Enables the Sisters of St. Francis to share their resources and live out their commitment to those who are poor, oppressed, and marginalized in our society.
Used for programs/projects that promote social justice at local, national, or international levels.
