Aston, PA—The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia 20th Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2014, at the Radley Run Country Club in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the sisters’ ministries.
“For the past 20 years, our generous sponsors have provided help to countless people through the ministries in which our sisters are involved,” said Sr. Mary Vandergeest, executive director of the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation. “It truly has been a privilege and an honor to call them our partners in ministry. This means that every time a person who is hurting and in need of assistance seeks help from one of our ministries, our sponsors support them as well.”
Among the sponsoring organizations are Ammon/Williams Allstate Agency, Boyd Watterson Asset Management, Elwyn Pharmacy, Emcor Services/Fluidics, Kevin Lyons Funeral Service, Porter & Curtis, LLC, River Road Asset Management, Sodexo, St. Mary Medical Center, and Williamson Hospitality Services.
The cost to golf is $325 per person or $1,200 for a foursome and includes greens fees, cart, two contests, lunch, cocktails, and dinner. Live, silent, and ticket auctions will take place at the dinner. Items up for auction include a Bermuda vacation with golf for two, Eagles and Phillies tickets, foursomes at several prestigious golf courses, golf lessons, and much, much more. Team and door prizes will be awarded.
Today almost 500 Sisters of St. Francis serve in 22 states and in the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe. Their ministries include education at all levels; healthcare; pastoral care; service to elderly persons, immigrants, and refugees; care of those who are homeless, poor, or living with HIV/AIDS; and prayer and spiritual ministries.
