Aston, PA—The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia will conduct their inaugural Franciscan Night on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Our Lady of Angels Convent. The event will be an evening of fun, food, entertainment, games of chance, and live and silent auctions. Proceeds from the event will support the sisters’ retirement.

“We are so pleased to be able to hold this new event,” said Sr. Mary Vandergeest, executive director of the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation. “And excited, too! This is the first fundraising event of this kind that will be held at Our Lady of Angels Convent, the motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Francis. I’ve been told over the years that many people who have passed the convent have wondered about the inside. We invite all to come to our event, not only to see the inside but also to meet many of our sisters and to participate and have fun.”

The inaugural Franciscan Night will be held at Our Lady of Angels Convent, 609 S. Convent Road, Aston, Pennsylvania 19014. The event will run from 7 P.M. to 10 P.M. and doors will open at 6:30 P.M. Parking for the event will be across the street. A handicap entrance will also be available.

“The foundation’s Board of Directors has been instrumental in helping us make arrangements for the event. In addition, we have been blessed with many volunteers who have given of their time and talents in this effort,” continued Sr. Mary. “We have so many people and organizations to thank for their sponsorship and contributions.”

Among the sponsoring organizations are Mr. and Mrs. William Fegley, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zeiler, Lor-Mar Mechanical Services, Inc., and Mr. and Mrs. John Brennan.

The cost per ticket is $90 and includes food, wine and beer, and $50 in chips. Our sumptuous food will be provided by Caffe Gelato of Newark, Delaware, and music will be provided by JB Cole. Auction items will include a Dick Vermeil hand-signed and inscribed “1980 NFC Champions” authentic Philadelphia Eagles throwback jersey, a Vince Lombardi “The Greatest Speech” framed photograph collage, and a Niagara Vineyards Wine Tour weekend.
