Background
For more than 150 years, the Sisters of St. Francis, trusting in the providence of God, have ministered to the needs of God’s people. In 1994, the Franciscan Ministries Foundation (FMF) was founded. (In 2009 the foundation was renamed the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation.) The ability to live the mission depends on resources generated from external sources. The foundation’s goal is to seek financial support for sisters’ ministries, for retirement, and for other current needs.
How we get our funding
As the development vehicle for the Sisters of St. Francis, the foundation does direct mail appeals three times a year (St. Francis Day, Christmas, and Easter). In addition to these appeals, there is an annual sweepstakes fund raiser and an annual golf outing. We also provide memorial cards and memorials (plaques, trees, bricks, and benches) that provide a way of honoring those who are special in your life, assuring a timeless rememberance.
