Young Adult Engagement Coordinator

Description:

The Young Adult Outreach Coordinator collaborates in developing and implementing ways to invite, accompany, and empower young adults in engaging Franciscan spirituality and values towards personal growth and social transformation. The coordinator supports mutual, intergenerational relationships among young adults, sisters, and companions as part of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia’s charism ministries team.

  • Collaborates with the Charism Engagement Minister, the Director of Franciscan Companions in Mission, and others to develop and implement creative young adult engagement initiatives expressing our Franciscan charism in response to contemporary needs.

  • Coordinates efforts to build relationships with and among young adults through in-person events and activities, social media, and virtual programs. Maintains regular communications with existing and new young adult participants.

  • Becomes and/or stays informed of current trends related to young adult ministry, faith-based service, intentional communities, integral ecology, environmental racism and anti-racism, and the contemporary Franciscan movement’s response to these needs. Collaborates with the Charism Engagement Minister in networking with related organizations.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young adults and/or service as a volunteer in a faith-based program (such as Franciscan Volunteers, Franciscan Mission Service, JVC, etc.)

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree OR relevant work experience.

  • Basic understanding of theology and Catholic Social Teaching; experience with and/or interest in Franciscan spirituality and tradition.

  • Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills, including a welcoming and inclusive manner in relating with others; treats all persons with dignity and respect.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including using social media platforms; competent in using Microsoft Office and Zoom.

  • Can be flexible with work schedule, including working some evenings and weekends during young adult-related events/activities. Position may be full or part-time, with some remote work negotiable.

Director, Franciscan Spiritual Center (Aston, PA)

Description:

We are seeking a full-time director to provide overall leadership and management of the Franciscan Spiritual Center (FSC). The FSC seeks to continue its legacy and practice of hospitality and programming by representing diverse spiritualities and which “welcomes all as sister and brother.”

  • Lead the effort to revive and re-imagine the center following its significant reduction in programming during the pandemic.

  • Ensure that our Franciscan mission and values are demonstrated in all aspects of the spiritual center, including in relationships, interactions, programming, and policies.

  • Integrate our Franciscan mission, values, and vision with marketing, development, planning, and fiscal management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree inclusive of studies in theology/spirituality preferred.

  • At least three years of leadership experience in a non-profit organization.

  • Strong creative and planning skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including using social media platforms; competent in using Microsoft Office and Zoom.

Nurses (RN’s & LPN’s), Assisi House

Description:

  • Part-time and full-time positions for the day, evening, and night shifts

  • Occasional positions for nurses to work the evening and night shifts

  • Description:

    • Responsible for the medical care of the residents.
    • Serves as a role model for professional nursing practices and as an advocate for resident care.
    • Directly supervises the Certified Nursing Assistants.

Requirements:

  • Must have PA nursing license

  • Experience in long-term care a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate in a caring and empathetic manner

  • Able to serve as a mentor and team player in a collaborative style

Nursing Assistants, Assisi House, FT, PT, & Occasional

Description:

  • Nursing Assistants– Several full-time and part-time and occasional positions available for evening and night shifts (rotating weekends and holidays). Flexible scheduling available.

  • We have Nursing Assistant positions for those certified OR with previous home health care or personal care assistant experience. The nursing assistant is responsible for providing assisting the residents with the activities of daily living, such as:

    • Transporting/moving residents
    • Gathering medical supplies
    • Bathing residents
    • Grooming residents
    • Setting up meals or feeding residents
    • Checking vital signs
    • Assisting residents with requests

Requirements:

  • Certification as an CNA or experience in the retirement home setting or as a home health aide or personal care assistant.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Ability to communicate in a caring and empathetic manner
