Ingredients
2 1/2 cups
flour
1 tsp.
baking soda
1 tsp.
baking powder
1/2 tsp.
salt
2 tbsp.
sugar
1/2 cup
butter (room temperature/softened)
1 cup
raisins
3 tbsp.
white vinegar
3/4 cup
whole milk
Instructions
- Sift flour and next four ingredients. Cut in butter with a bladed dough blender until mixture is coarse. Stir in raisins. Mix together vinegar and milk until thick. Make well in center of flour mix, add liquid, and mix until moistened.
- Turn onto well floured board, knead about 8-10 times, and shape into round ball. Place in greased pie plate. Brush top with milk.
- Bake 400° for 15 minutes; lower to 375° for another 30 minutes.
- Remove from pan; cool 1 hr.
