For Immediate Release

York, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that attorney Larry Heim has been named to the board of directors for The Sisters of St. Francis Foundation.

The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia is a community of Catholic women who commit their lives to God as followers of St. Francis and St. Clare, according to its website. The foundation was created to provide support for the sisters’ ministries, their retirement, and other designated needs.

Heim, while not Catholic, forged a strong bond with members of the order while working on an estate matter with a client who bequeathed money to the order.

“When I handle estates like this one that involve a large sum of money, I always make it a point to hand-deliver a check. When I delivered this check, I felt an instant connection with the people there,” Heim said. “We stayed in contact, and I often supported their fundraising efforts. The opportunity arose for me to join the board, and I was honored when they asked me. I jumped at the chance to serve on the board of such a wonderful, welcoming organization.”

Heim joined Barley Snyder in 2018 as a member of its Litigation Practice Group and its Hospitality Industry Group. He has worked for decades with businesses to help them obtain and defend their liquor licenses and has worked with clients to help them navigate regulation from state and federal courts and boards.
