- Single, practicing Catholic woman
- Minimum education: high school diploma or GED
- Capable of obtaining a college degree
- At least 20 years old
- Good mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health
- Financially responsible for self during candidacy
- Debt-free before novitiate (educational debt is negotiable)
- Free of canonical impediments and family responsibilities
