Aston, PA—Sister Robert Marie Green, OSF, 87, died in Assisi House on Saturday, November 30, 2024. She had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 65 years. Sister Robert was born Margaret Mary Green in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she was a member of St. Francis Parish and a graduate of Central Catholic High School.  She entered the congregation in 1956 and professed her first vows in 1959.  She earned a BA in English from Neumann University and an MA in Supervision and Administration from Rider College.  She ministered primarily in education.

Sister Robert Marie ministered for 61 years in the Diocese of Trenton. She taught at Holy Angels School in Trenton, St. Joseph School in Medford, St. Michael’s School in Hopewell, and St. Rose of Lima School in Freehold.  For 42 years she served Corpus Christi School and Parish in Willingboro, first as principal of the school for 15 years and then in parish ministry for the remaining 27 years where she ministered to the parish homebound and founded the Corpus Christi Seniors Club. In 2019, she received the Knights of Columbus Award for her service to the elderly.

Additional ministry includes three years as principal of Holy Trinity School in Columbia, Pennsylvania in the Harrisburg Diocese.  In 2023, Sister Robert Marie moved to Assisi House, the congregation’s retirement community in Aston, Pennsylvania, where she served in prayer and hospitality ministry until her death.

All services will be held in Assisi House on Tuesday, December 10, and will be livestreamed. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. followed by viewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A.M. Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Aston. Sister Robert Marie is survived by her sister-in-law Yvonne Green, many nieces and nephews, and her Franciscan family.
