Aston, PA—Sister ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Regina McCloskey, OSF, (formerly Sister Mary Norbert), 94, died in Assisi House on Thursday, January 22, 2026. She had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 72 years. Born Regina Mary McCloskey in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sister Regina was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish and a graduate of Hallahan High School. She entered the congregation in 1951 and professed her first vows in 1954. She earned a BS in Education from Villanova University and an MA in Theology from St. Bonaventure University. She ministered primarily in education and pastoral care.

Sister Regina began her ministry in the Diocese of Trenton, teaching for a combined 21 years. She taught for six years at Holy Angels School in Trenton, four years at St. Leo the Great in Lincroft, and 11 years at St. Anthony High School in Trenton.

Serving for 51 years in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Sister Regina spent three years in the Generalate Education office in Aston supporting sister educators, before teaching for seven years at Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield. She spent the next 26 years at St. Hubert High School in Philadelphia, first as a teacher and then working in the Guidance office. During this time, she also taught for four years at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook.

After 57 years as an educator, Sister Regina ministered in pastoral care for 10 years as a member of the Franciscan Care Team at Assisi House, the congregation’s retirement community in Aston, Pennsylvania. In 2021, Sister Regina became a resident of Assisi House, where she served in prayer and hospitality ministry until her death.

All services will be held in Assisi House on Thursday, January 29, 2026, and will be livestreamed. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. followed by viewing. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A.M., and burial will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Aston. Sister Regina is survived by her sister-in-law Joan, her nieces and nephews, and her Franciscan family. Donations in her name can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, 609 S.
