• Assisi House is the retirement convent for the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia located in Aston, Pennsylvania, across the street from Our Lady of Angels Convent, the congregation’s motherhouse.
  • We seek to engage life in a way that challenges us to purposeful/meaningful activity, calling forth a ministry of compassionate presence, hospitality, and service.
  • A “person-centered care” approach fosters a sense of family throughout the 125 bed, multi-level care facility, which includes an Alzheimer’s and Dementia unit.
  • Now retired from their rigorous vocation ministry as teachers, nurses, administrators, etc., the sisters at Assisi House continue to carry out their Franciscan ideals through prayerful service to one another, their community, and their world.
“Some say when they come to Assisi House for the very first time, they feel a wave of peace come over them.”
Sr. Marie Bride Murphy

“I’ve been to a lot of nursing homes over the years and there was one thing missing at the Assisi House that was present in all the others–and that was despair.”
