Red Hill Farm

Red Hill Farm, owned by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, is one of the sisters’ many environmental initiatives. Red Hill Farm is a six-acre Community Supported Agriculture farm in its 17th year of production. It provides produce for 120 members as well as for the Sisters of St. Francis. The farm has always been managed by utilizing organic practices. We build healthy soil with the use of cover crops and compost. Weeds are managed with mechanical cultivation and hand weeding.  Pests are managed through crop rotation and the use of floating row covers.

What is Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) allows community members to connect with a local farm and support their local food economy. Members purchase a farm share and in return receive a weekly supply of fresh produce harvested at the peak of freshness. Red Hill Farm offers over 30 types of vegetables and a wide array of U-Pick crops, including berries, cut flowers, and herbs. A CSA membership allows people to feel confident about how and where their food is grown and enables them to develop a relationship with the farmer while learning about food.
